על חווייתו של עולה חדש בישראל / מאת Shamal V. Fernando

I am Shamal V. Fernando and I am a student at Amal B high school. I love to, read, listen to music, watch movies, play games, write and to hangout with friends. I speak three different languages. My favorite food, I don’t know. My favorite color is black. One of my favorite places is the beach although I don’t know how to swim. I like to drink coffee with milk. I usually spend my free time on cooking. I like to be a film director. I think a successful film director can have a lot of free time and enough salary to live. The main reason is I was inspired by old modern classic movies and I am disappointed by new generation movies. I’m a Sri Lankan who took citizenship in Israel. I came to Israel 2 and a half years ago (2018). In 2 and a half years I learned a lot of things that I would not know if I was in Sri Lanka, e.g- what happened in WW2 and why it is so important to learn about it, why I should know about rights and how people are suffering without their rights. I understand a lot of things because I chose communication. Journalism helped me to understand the world and look at the media in different ways. I think communication is a beneficial subject. I don’t regret any second that I spent on this subject. One of the main obstacles that I have on my way is the language barrier. Hebrew isn’t an easy language to learn but I’m putting my full effort into learning this language. I have a chance that many people wouldn’t have in their lives so I’m trying to do my best. I’m a friendly person, I have a lot of friends in Israel and also in Sri Lanka. I like to live in Israel more than in Sri Lanka but for my vacation I would like to be in Sri Lanka. I have two pet lobsters in Israel and in Sri Lanka I have a dog and her kind is Boxer. I have one brother and he’s six years older than me. My brother lives in Italy, maybe one day all of us could end up in Cyprus.
